Gender & Sexuality

Folks who exist outside of the gender binary of man/woman and the heteronormative scale often experience deep disruption in their sense of safety, belonging, and dignity. This disruption can lead to depression, anxiety, gender dysphoria, isolation from community, self-hatred, suicidality. I’m here to tell you that there is nothing wrong with you and nothing wrong about these emotions you might be experiencing.

For queer and trans BI&POC, navigating their queerness and ethnicity creates complicated implications. You might find yourself “stuck” in choosing between your culture and expressing your queerness. You might feel as though you are not queer or trans enough because you have chosen not to “come out” to your family and community. You might have others questioning your authenticity without regards to your cultural identity or practices.

How I Can Help

I will explore with you–not for you–what feels good to you in the long run and what matters to you. I will hold space for nuance and changes: Life is far from rigid, and your values and priorities can shift over time. I will honor all aspects of your identity as we recognize the bigger picture of intersecting oppressive systems that place immense pressure on all of us to fit the norms.
